Sven Ratzke & Band

STARMAN

Inspired by David Bowie, Sven Ratzke has created his own dazzling character: STARMAN

This production: Seite drucken

Ratzke, an entertainer extraordinaire whose shows are a spectacle of art and wonderfully manic music that have incited furore worldwide now takes a closer look at Bowie and, in STARMAN, creates a figure that goes far beyond a mere homage to a legend: STARMAN comes from another planet and is a kind of 'Baron von Münchhausen from outer space'. In STARMAN Ratzke sends his audience on a crazy, incredible, entertaining journey from the stars via New York to Berlin.

From seventies Glam Rock to groovy sound collages, right up to tender confessions on a rustily whining piano - Sven Ratzke is accompanied by his brilliant three-man band directed by the ingenious Charly Zastrau, who has created his own world of sound especially for this show.

'Cabaret' encounters a great rock performance, entertainment meets pop. Crazy, intimate, witty, bewitching and extremely rocky – the universe according to Ratzke crashes head on into the legend that is Bowie and fuses to become a grandiose, highly explosive musical extravaganza.

Band:
Charly Zastrau (Arrangements and Piano)
Haye Jelelma (Percussion und Drums)
Florian Friedrich (Bass)

Paul Morocco & Olé!

Olé! - The Flamenco Comedy Show

Europe's craziest Spaniards are back in Berlin. Paul Morocco, Marcial Heredia and Guillermo de Endaya conjure up their magic of comedy, music, artistry and dance with a dynamic show which altogether redefines "power" in cabaret.

This production: Seite drucken

Take flamenco's typical ingredients like rhythm, tempo and intensity and connect all of this with some breathtaking juggling. Whether it's table-tennis balls, citrus fruit or tennis racquets – nothing gets left out. Olé! has no need to hide away from the perfect but sometimes cold snappy quips of the musical scene, because this show consists of people that are pure flesh and blood on stage who steal the audience's breath away for an evening.

Drawing on "The Good, the Bad and the Ugly" theme, Morocco forms a trio in which he clearly takes the role of the "Fat Man in the Middle". He makes some crazy excursions into comedy and juggling, while his companions alternately assume the roles of "charming boy" and "mega-macho". But despite all the comedy they all share musical virtuosity and origins in all the different styles of rumba and flamenco, Latin Pop, to the chart hits of the last decades. Here we have this American, now living in London, with his first companions on stage again: the cool Catalan Guillermo "Willy" de Endaya, the straight-faced and the hot-blooded Andalusian Marcial Heredia.

Carrington-Brown

Dream A Little Dream

From Bach to Bowie and from Knef to Klezmer - plus the cello in a new show with the classically trained, quirky cellist Rebecca Carrington and the cool, powerful voice of her partner Colin Brown.

This production: Seite drucken

For the first time, the two of them will not only be accompanied by Joe, a 200 year old, at times rather jealous cello, but also a piano.

The name of the new band member and how Joe gets along with his new rival remains to be seen. In their new programme, the two Berlin-based entertainers deal with their own desires and dreams, but also throw an amused look at German everyday things with their typical British humour and present them in charming songs, such as “Steuerberaterblues” or “Für mich soll’s deutsche Regeln regnen”. A brilliant combination of music, British comedy and the endless trials and tribulations of the universe.

The multiple award-winning duo walks an elegant and skilful tightrope between classical and pop music, playing music that everyone knows - but no one has ever quite heard it like this before!

Sharon Brauner & Band

Bei mir bist Du schön

Sharon Brauner not only comes from a Jewish family, she manages to transfer old Jewish songs to modern Germany.

This production: Seite drucken

Not only her wonderful voice but her manner and her stories touch you to the very bottom of your soul.“Bei mir bist Du schön!” (“To me you're beautiful”), an old Yiddish folk song once made popular by the Andrew Sisters sensation, is an exuberant homage to Yiddish popular music and also a musical journey through the biography of the artist Sharon Brauner.

She this takes us away to discover brand new facets of Jewish culture. Songs you've never heard before, Jewish classics and her own songs are presented with humour and an unbridled zest of life. Her soft clear voice and charisma touch the listener and leave the audience feeling animated.

Festung Europa

Die Flüchtlinge, die AfD und die Landtagswahlen – der radioeins-Kommentatoren-Talk.

This production: Seite drucken

Dagegen halten? Kurs korrigieren?

The Living Paper Cartoon

ENNIO is the great master of illusion and has already wowed Berlin audiences on several occasions with his unique metamorphic skills.

He creates a magic world, a hilarious, dazzling revue of our favourite stars and starlets.

It is astounding to see Mona Lisa transform into Marilyn Monroe, or when the three tenors suddenly become – donna e mobile – ultrablonde Dolly Parton. And before you can blink, ENNIO - only a second before as Udo Lindenberg - has suddenly become German children’s favourite cartoon character, Biene Maja. A stirring soundtrack and ENNIO's wild and passionate metamorphoses make for an intoxicating evening of show – the hottest strip of living celluloid to be seen on the stage today.

Georgette Dee

... singt vom Fliegenden Teppich

Songs from the clouds and tales of travel with Terry Truck on the piano.

This production: Seite drucken

"Georgette Dee is the perfect diva — she is simply divine. When she […] sets foot on the stage to sing her Brechts and Weills, her Brels and Eislers, her Holländers and her own songs, the result is hot and cold shivers up and down your spine. She fights her way through her songs shouting, cooing, whispering, weeping, raging and sighing. A diseuse who reminds us of Marlene Dietrich, Judy Garland, Zarah Leander, Hildegard Knef or her great heroine Nina Simone — and yet always remains Georgette. 'Berlinesque brutality', Enigma of German chansons', 'Angel off the beaten track', 'Queen of the diseuses' said Yann Allegret talking about Georgette Dee.

CABARET

The Musical

Seeing CABARET at TIPI in the center of Berlin is a chance to experience history where it really happened. ‘Come taste the wine, come hear the band’ – immerse yourself in the Berlin of the sizzling Twenties.

This production: Seite drucken

Welcome to the Kit Kat Club right next to the Chancellor’s office! The TIPI AM KANZLERAMT becomes a cabaret, hosting the world-famous musical about life, passion and despair in Berlin under the darkening skies of approaching fascism.

Based on true events and real lives, CABARET portrays the experiences of the English writer Christopher Isherwood, who lived in the Berlin district of Schöneberg from 1929 to 1933, making real life the source of this highly sensual theatrical experience.

The story of the carefree nightclub-singer Sally Bowles in the glittering yet shady milieu of the Golden Twenties immortalised the city of Berlin as the city of historical fractures, caught between glamour and the gutter, between dreams and despair.

This production of CABARET is the work of director and star choreographer Vincent Paterson, who has developed choreographies for Madonna and Michael Jackson as well as for Lars von Trier's Dancer in The Dark.

Director and choreographer: Vincent Paterson
Musical director: Adam Benzwi
Script by Joe Masteroff – after the play “I am a Camera” by John van Druten and the stories by Christopher Isherwood
Music by John Kander
Song lyrics by Fred Ebb
German texts by Robert Gilbert
Stage design: Momme Röhrbein
