Rubalcaba & Luis Frank Arias

Candilejas

A fantastic musical evening with real Cuban stars!

This production: Seite drucken

For the very first time at the TIPI AM KANZLERAMT

Guillermo Rubalcaba Gonzales and Luis Frank Arias offer us a musical experience of a very special kind: on the piano, the 87year-old veteran of Cubanmusic, Rubalcaba, accompanying the distinctive voice of Luis Frank Arias. Guillermo Rubalcaba (incidentally, father of the famous jazz pianist Gonzalo Rubalcaba) has a huge repertoire ranging from the traditional genres of son, guarachatocha-cha-cha, danzon, bolero and many more. Yet the 87-year-old still remains open to innovation. His specialty is a blend of the traditional and the new.

Together with Luis Frank Arias, who is one of the most important Cuban singers of our time, the most beautiful Cuban classics and world-famous piano hits such as"As time goes by" are performed in the most enchanting way.<xml></xml>

Bei mir bist Du schön

Sharon Brauner not only comes from a Jewish family, she manages to transfer old Jewish songs to modern Germany.

This production: Seite drucken

Not only her wonderful voice but her manner and her stories touch you to the very bottom of your soul.“Bei mir bist Du schön!” (“To me you're beautiful”), an old Yiddish folk song once made popular by the Andrew Sisters sensation, is an exuberant homage to Yiddish popular music and also a musical journey through the biography of the artist Sharon Brauner.

She this takes us away to discover brand new facets of Jewish culture. Songs you've never heard before, Jewish classics and her own songs are presented with humour and an unbridled zest of life. Her soft clear voice and charisma touch the listener and leave the audience feeling animated.

Carrington-Brown

Dream A Little Dream

From Bach to Bowie and from Knef to Klezmer - plus the cello in a new show with the classically trained, quirky cellist Rebecca Carrington and the cool, powerful voice of her partner Colin Brown.

This production: Seite drucken

For the first time, the two of them will not only be accompanied by Joe, a 200 year old, at times rather jealous cello, but also a piano.

The name of the new band member and how Joe gets along with his new rival remains to be seen. In their new programme, the two Berlin-based entertainers deal with their own desires and dreams, but also throw an amused look at German everyday things with their typical British humour and present them in charming songs, such as “Steuerberaterblues” or “Für mich soll’s deutsche Regeln regnen”. A brilliant combination of music, British comedy and the endless trials and tribulations of the universe.

The multiple award-winning duo walks an elegant and skilful tightrope between classical and pop music, playing music that everyone knows - but no one has ever quite heard it like this before!

Muttis Kinder are a wonderful brood who command that we follow their every musical uttering with joy and admiration. Let their music melt in your ears. And in your hearts. Their voices are not only there for singing; they also imitate drums and produce sound effects and alternate between lead and background with virtuosity - no wonder that this trio won the "Freiburger Leiter 2011" award for the best musical performance. At the International A-Cappella Competition in Graz in 2010, the young group won the audience and jury prize in the categories "Comedy" and "Pop" (extra performance). Klazz Brothers & Cuba Percussion

Classic meets Cuba II

Brilliantly arranged classics in the form of Salsa.

This production: Seite drucken

Since its formation in 2000, the highly acclaimed quintet has devoted itself to the creation and refinement of a mould-breaking sound, presenting a unique fusion of classic European music with elements of swing and latin jazz, enhanced by the rhythmic varieties of Cuban music.

“Classic meets Cuba”, the name of the first joint project has advanced to a sort of axiom for the ensemble’s unique musical style. Several other extremely successful projects soon followed, all of which implicate the cooperation with Cuban and European musical tradition. Released in 2002 with Sony Classical, the album “Classic meets Cuba” was awarded with the “Echo Klassik”, the “Jazz Award” in 2003 and received a Grammy nomination in the category “Best Classical Crossover Album” in 2005.

Their unconventional musical language discloses a refreshing approach to the works of Bach, Mozart, Beethoven and Brahms. The witty and canny arrangements beckon the audience into a novel world of dance and passion along with a contagious zest for life.

Ennio

The Living Paper Cartoon

ENNIO is the great master of illusion and has already wowed Berlin audiences on several occasions with his unique metamorphic skills.

This production: Seite drucken

<xml></xml>He creates a magic world, a hilarious, dazzling revue of our favourite stars and starlets.

It is astounding to see Mona Lisa transform into Marilyn Monroe, or when the three tenors suddenly become – donna e mobile – ultrablonde Dolly Parton. And before you can blink, ENNIO - only a second before as Udo Lindenberg - has suddenly become German children’s favourite cartoon character, Biene Maja. A stirring soundtrack and ENNIO's wild and passionate metamorphoses make for an intoxicating evening of show – the hottest strip of living celluloid to be seen on the stage today.

Olé! - The Flamenco Comedy Show

Gypsy Kings Meets Three Amigos. 3 Latin Machos Duel with their 3 Flaming Flamenco Guitars at a fast furious pace.

This production: Seite drucken

They play like Paco De Lucia. They sing like Pavarotti. They spit ping pong balls, throw guitars, and smash eggs and cliches.

These three Locos guys are not only funny but enormously musically talented as well. Their powerful performance combines frantic zany slapstick that is almost surreal beyond madness.

“Ole”, the Adrenalin Show, is one of the most high energy original, funny, and spectacular performances that will surprise and excite the unsuspecting audience from the moment they step on stage to the last standing member.

CABARET

Das Musical

Willkommen. Bienvenue. Welcome. Cabaret – where it really happened!

This production: Seite drucken

Welcome to the Kit Kat Club right next to the Chancellor’s office! The TIPI AM KANZLERAMT becomes a cabaret, hosting the world-famous musical about life, passion and despair in Berlin under the darkening skies of approaching fascism.

Based on true events and real lives, CABARET portrays the experiences of the English writer Christopher Isherwood, who lived in the Berlin district of Schöneberg from 1929 to 1933, making real life the source of this highly sensual theatrical experience.

The story of the carefree nightclub-singer Sally Bowles in the glittering yet shady milieu of the Golden Twenties immortalised the city of Berlin as the city of historical fractures, caught between glamour and the gutter, between dreams and despair.

This production of CABARET is the work of director and star choreographer Vincent Paterson, who has developed choreographies for Madonna and Michael Jackson as well as for Lars von Trier's Dancer in The Dark.

Director and choreographer: Vincent Paterson
Musical director: Adam Benzwi
Script by Joe Masteroff – after the play “I am a Camera” byJohn van Druten and the stories by Christopher Isherwood
Music by John Kander
Song lyrics by Fred Ebb
German texts by Robert Gilbert
Stage design: Momme Röhrbein

For more information about the Musical, please visit: our CABARET-Site.
